            Happy New Year!

December 31st, 2018, 5:28pm–Happy New Year! As tradition, we like to look back at Rupert Grint‘s career highlights for the year and a look ahead to the next year. The 2018 year was actually an amazing one, giving us a lot of content and things to look forward to. In the first half of 2018, Right began filming season 2 of Snatch where they were on location in Spain. Season 2 was then released in September of 2018. Rupert was also nominated for his role as Charlie Cavendish Scott for season 1, though sadly he did not win.

In other TV news, the second season of Sick Note was announce to air on Sky for July 2018. Fans of Rupert around the world though got to see both seasons 1 and 2 of Sick Note via Netflix in late November.

In mid-2018 we learned that Rupert was cast as Inspector Crome alongside John Malkovich for the BBC adaption of Agatha Christie‘s The ABC Murders. It aired on December 26th 2018 on BBC for three nights straight. Rupert’s performance was hailed by critics and fans alike.

Lastly on the TV front, it was announced just last month that Rupert would be co-staring in an untiled Apple series produced and directed by the famous M. Night Shyamalan. Thought details are scare, we do know that the series is a psychological thriller and Rupert will be playing the brother of one of the main characters.

In non-related TV news, Rupert also participated in the Dinard British Film Festival where fans were treated to a lot of photoshoot like pictures.

But what of 2019? Well, the only thing we know so far is that Rupert’s Apple series project will be available in late 2019. But we’re sure there will be more news as the year progresses. And of course, fans in the US will get to see The ABC Murders on Amazon Prime on February 1st 2019!

Again, Happy New Year! Everyone at r-g.us hopes you have a happy and healthy 2019!

Rupert Grint: Promotional Interviews for The ABC Murders!

Rupert Grint: Promotional Interviews for The ABC Murders!December 17th, 2018, 12:12pm– With less than 10 days to go until Rupert Grint appears on our TV in The ABC Murders as Inspector Crome, BBC have released promotional interviews with the cast and crew of the three-parter TV series.

Co-star John Malkovich (Hercule Poirot) says this about Rupert:

He has a lot of charm. He has a way of being sort of funny and off-centre without trying very hard. He brings an inner turmoil to the funny things he does that I always think is absolutely necessary to actually be funny.

Writer and Executive Producer Sarah Phelps makes an intriguing comparison of Rupert’s performance:

I kept thinking of Brexit and Trump all the time I was writing this particular England because they are exactly the same; the language never goes away and these people never go away. I didn’t envy him his job at all, I wanted to see someone struggle and I thought Rupert was astonishing; he really inhabited that really difficult thing of being scared that he’s not enough or up to the job. It’s a very tricky thing to pull off. He has power but is terrified and vulnerable and would be good at his job if only he let himself be. I think one of the hardest characters to play is the decent human being but Rupert does it. He is a subtle, nuanced actor with enormous likability.

And Damien Timmer‘s (Executive Producer) makes us expect that we’re in for a real treat when we see Rupert and John Malkovitch together:

We were thrilled to cast Rupert Grint. Rupert is so well known for past roles, and that comes with a bit of baggage, so perhaps it might have been seen as a real leap to have cast him as a senior policeman, but as soon as I saw his first costume and make-up tests and his first day of rushes we could see that he had inhabited that part so credibly and I think the double act of Rupert Grint and John Malkovich is one of the great surprises. They are just wonderful together.

Make sure to read through all of the interviews for more information about the films and lovely quotes about Rupert on the BBC website

The interviews also include many stills, so make sure to check them out on the BBC website or in our Gallery.

The ABC Murders starts airing on 26th December 2018 at 9pm on BBC One!
