Rupert Grint on Season 2 of Snatch, Charlie Countryman, and more!September 11th, 2018, 4:05pm–On September 13th, the second season of Rupert Grint’s Snatch will be available to stream and that means that promotion has already started. In fact, The Chicago Tribune has a wonderfully interesting interview with Rupert out today. He talks about Charlie Countryman and the prosthesis he had to wear, being an awkward person and how that affects his acting, and a spoiler-y moment about the first episode of second season. Here are a few gems from the article:

On Charlie Countryman and that bulge…

“It was such a trippy, crazy film and we had this scene where I accidentally overdose on Viagra. So most of the film I have to wear a thing — a prosthetic — in my wardrobe, in my pants. It was just part of my morning: I have to put it on, strap it on. So, yeah. That was quite embarrassing.

“It was quite an ordeal to take off, so I kept it on for the whole day on set. I would be like, getting coffee (between scenes) and I have this massive bulge. It was just weird. No one could ignore it. It kind of made quite a statement…”

On being awkward while acting…

““But also, I’m quite naturally an awkward person. My body doesn’t really move in the most fluid way and I find movement quite tricky. Like, my arms — very often, if I’m not saying anything in a scene, if I’m just kind of in the background, I find it very hard to find a natural position for my arms. I use my pockets a lot, but if it’s an intense scene you can’t really be standing there with your hands in your pockets. That’s a struggle.”

On having to watch YouTube videos for a scene…

“And dancing. There’s a scene in the first episode of this season of ‘Snatch’ where there’s a party and I have to seduce this head of town planning and I have to dance in this club — and I just don’t dance. I literally had to YouTube people dancing so I could figure it out, because I don’t know how people dance!”

The official Snatch Instagram page also posted a little video of Charlie today. You can check it out here and there are other character videos there if you want to check them out.

The official Snatch Facebook also posted a cute video of Rupert, Luke Pasqualino, and Lucien Laviscount saying a few phrases in Spanish. You can view that here. And also, don’t forget that there will be a Facebook Q&A on the 13th at 12pm PST with Rupert, Luke, Lucien, Phoebe Dynevor, Juliet Aubrey, Tamer Hassan, and Dougray Scott.

And finally, another recently released article from Spanish website Espinof gives insight into the new season. Rupert gave some answers about Charlie (he’s still trying to fit in and lead as he doesn’t think Albert is making the right decisions, how Chloe’s absence is explained, and how great the fans in Spain are. You can read it here and we will have a summed up translation here!

Keep an eye out as more promotion will be popping up in the coming days!

UPDATE: The entire Snatch cast took a tour around LA yesterday in a Bunker Bar Pop ice cream van. We’re uploading our gallery as pictures emerge so keep checking back. Our video gallery is also being updated continually with videos from this promo.

Ha! I know, it’s pretty amazing working with all these geniuses. After Mojo ended, I didn’t want to do another play for a long time. It was fun but so exhausting. Then this came up and it was such an incredible cast, I had to do it.

Emerging from the “safe bubble” of Potter, Grint, 25, felt slightly lost. He credits director Ian Rickson for bringing him Mojo. “That cockney language is almost Shakespearean. And it’s a proper ensemble cast. Danny [Mays] gives me so much energy to bounce off and Ben Whinshaw is amazing.”

While shooting The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, a forthcoming film in which he plays an aspiring porn star, he was astonished to see Shia LaBeouf take LSD for real. “He smashed the place up, got naked and kept seeing this owl. If anything will make you not do drugs, it’s watching that.”
